FF-59 Royal Aircraft Factory SE5
Kit FF-59 Royal Aircraft Factory SE5 is a 1/6 scale, flying model
that uses the Box and Former method
of construction. Pre-1942 design, eligible for Society of Antique
Modelers (SAM) contests. This jumbo model is very popular for
conversion to electric or gas powered flight.
Britain’s best fighter
planes in WWI were the famed Sopwith Camel and the SE5. The SE5
was faster and more maneuverable than the German fighters and therefore
helped maintain Allied air superiority.
This free flight rubber powered kit contains a
full-size rolled plan, building and flying instructions, hand picked
competition weight printed balsa and balsa strip wood, clear plastic
for the windshield, wheels, land gear wire, and
Easy Built Lite tissue in olive green and light sky blue.
You will need a building board, pins, hobby
knife, fine sandpaper, and glue.
If you are going to fly this plane with rubber power then choose
the kit + rubber powered set. This also includes a propeller, thrust
button, prop shaft, and rubber motor.

Thomas Ellmann built a beautiful pair of SE5 planes and
converted them to RC. 10 x 5 prop, 8 GP 2000 NiMH cells, weight
with pilot is 930 grams.

Climbs at about 70 degrees. Fun to fly. I installed a ram machine
