Piper Cub
Kit FF-22 Piper Cub is a 1/19 scale, flying model that uses the Box
and Former method of simplified construction. Pre-1942 design,
eligible for Society of Antique Modelers (SAM) contests.
The Piper Cub was originally built by Piper Aircraft Corporation,
it was very popular with the flying public because of its price, light
weight, and performance. It was also used by the military beginning
in 1941 under the name L-4 Grasshopper. Between 1941 and 1945, the
Army procured almost 6,000 Piper Aircraft. During WWII, "Grasshoppers"
performed a wide variety of functions throughout the world such as
directing artillery fire, pilot training, glider pilot instruction,
courier service and front-line liaison.
This free flight rubber powered kit contains a full-size
rolled plan, building and flying instructions, printed balsa wood,
hand-picked balsa strip wood, rubber motor, propeller, nose package,
clear plastic for the windshield, wheels, landing gear, and Easy
Built Lite tissue in cub yellow. You will need a building
board, pins, hobby knife, fine
sandpaper, and glue.
