Kit FF-45 Percival Mew Gull is a 1/24 scale, flying model that
uses the Box and Former method of construction.
Pre-1942 design, eligible for FAC Dime
Scale and Society of Antique Modelers (SAM)
contests.
Alex Henshaw's Percival Mew
Gull won the 1938 King's Cup Air Race at an average speed of 236.25
mph over a triangular course of 1012.14 miles - the fastest ever
recorded by a British aircraft. In February, 1939, Henshaw also
flew a Mew Gull from England to South Africa & back in just
4 days, 10 hours & 15 minutes, smashing the previous record.
These records still stand today.
This free flight rubber powered kit contains a
full-size rolled plan, building and flying instructions, printed
balsa wood, hand-picked balsa stripwood, rubber motor, propeller,
nose package, clear plastic for the windshield, wheels, landing
gear, and Easy Built Lite colored tissue.
You will need a building board, pins, hobby
knife, fine sandpaper, and glue.
