Postscript: "I guess my Erie Daily Times is still floating somewhere over Northern Ohio. I launched
it last Sunday at our CFFS monthly contest and it disappeared while going up and South at nearly the same
rate. It was Very disappointing. This is only the second time I've flown it, and I was hoping to learn
something from it. Instead, it flew right off the board, and then left me with nothing. I suspect that
it has a homing device cleverly built into the balsa and that it is heading home to Alabama. Please let
me know when it arrives." Very truly, Rich Weber
"...electric conversion of the Erie Daily Times. Modifications include 1. moved wing position from low wing to midwing. I raised the wing so I could mount the cells in the bottom of the fuselage below the wing. Now it glides well. 2. stiffened the stabilizer by building it with 3/32" square balsa. 3. powered by HiLine 4 motor with Union model reduction gear, used two 50 mah 1/3 AAA NCAD batteries to adjust the CG (center of gravity) which ended up over the trailing edge of the wing." - Van Smith
